EDM #290 Draw a teapot

Finally another EDM published! A teapot! This was a gift from my mother when I finished school so it has been with me for many years. It is made by a Swedish artist called Dagmar Änggård and I have always admired her pottery. She passed away some years ago though, so I have to take good care of my teapot...

As a small bonus I have drawn a traditional Swedish bakery called kanelbulle ("cinnamon bun", or similar. Translation help anyone?). I had to mention it since it happends to be the official day of the cinnamon bun - "kanelbullens dag" - in Sweden today. It makes me wonder... does everything have to have an official day now? Mother´s day and Father´s day I can buy, but honestly - "kanelbullens dag"???

  3. Really? Cinnamon buns have their own day? That's hilarious, but they're definitely worth a great sketch like yours.

  7. Lovely teapot - both drawing and the shape and design. We call those buns cinnamon swirls in the UK - but we dont have special day - tough there's a day for almost everything else!

  8. lovely drawing/painting of the cherished teapot.
In USA the buns are called Cinnamon rolls or buns...but we don't have a special day for them although it seems we have a special day for everything else...it gets to be a bit much.

Mothers Day, Fathers Day & Valentines Day are my favs.

  11. Hi Anna, I couldn't find your email address; I hope you don't mind that I'm answering your questions here. (Thanks for your comment!) www.posemaniacs.com is a site that has computer generated figures which you can draw from any angle and you can choose different types of exercises. A great place to practice figure drawing. Tracing paper is a see-through paper which you can lay over your drawing and sketch. I then add graphite onto the back, then lay over some watercolor paper to draw again, which then transfers the drawing. I think what you were referring to is called carbon paper.
